My name is Lizet Chavez. I was born and raised in Kilgore, Texas. I went to public school
all my grade school years due to my parents not knowing of options as well as to not being able
to afford to send me and my siblings to an Adventist academy. I am now blessed to attend
Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas. I am currently in my sophomore year. With
God's help, I plan on continuing my education as an Elementary School Teacher. I enjoy
working with kids and getting to know about them and I especially love watching them being
amazed when they learn new things. I enjoy taking long runs and spending time with my family.
I’ve struggled with trusting people and wondering if what I’m doing is what God wants me to do,
so I’m constantly questioning myself. I know a lot of people go through that, but God loves us so
much that he continues to remind us in (Jeremiah 11:29) “For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future.” Coming into this new experience In my life, as this will be my first time doing summer
camp,I pray that God not only helps the staff bring people closer to God but also uses the kids
to touch the hearts of the staff.
